Active lifestyle for healthy heart

With the recent statistics on stroke reaching an alarming rate of six Malaysians hit every hour as revealed by the Health Ministry recently, it has become necessary to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The Heart Foundation of Malaysia worked with a group of sponsors to launch the Heart Health Awareness Day at the Mines Shopping Fair in Mines Resort City recently.

The event was part of their efforts to reach out to Malaysians with heart-healthy message through awareness campaigns and programmes throughout the year.

The Heart Foundation of Malaysia director Ainon Hj. Kuntom launched the event, witnessed by sponsors comprising Mines Shopping Fair, Senheng Electric Sdn Bhd, Lion Club of Serdang, Columbia Asia, Palace Vacation Club and Palace Health Sanctuary.

Members of the public were offered basic health screening including cholesterol, glucose, body mass index check and dietary advice for a minimum donation of RM10 during the campaign.

Meanwhile, visitors were able to donate blood and register for organ donation.

Special line dance performances from the Fun Stompers group, the PJ Utara Line Dance Council and talented young dancers, wrapped up the launch event before guests were invited to join in for a line dancing session.
